About me
tansi, Randi Lynn nitsikhasewn mistasiniy nehiyaw ohchi niya Lac La Biche, AB ekwa nimikwan Greetings, my name is Randi Lynn Candline and my family originates from the Bigstone Cree Nation, Treaty 8 territory, however I call Lac La Biche home. My late mother was a Residential school survivor and as part of her healing, she was adamant of raising her children with our nehiyaw (Cree) culture, an opportunity she was deprived of as a child. I consider myself very fortunate to have been raised with a strong sense of identity, something I hold very close to my heart. This has influenced my educational and career journey, of obtaining a diploma in Aboriginal Mental Health and a degree in Indigenous Social Work. On top of being an Educational Assistant at J. A. Williams High, I have spent many years facilitating Mental Health and Indigenous Cultural workshops throughout Western Canada. My hobbies include beading regalia and travelling to participate in powwow as a Jingle Dress dancer. I enjoy instructing others on how to bead and dance powwow as well.
