This is an opportunity for all staff to come together, learn from some amazing speakers, participate in interactive sessions, and collaborate with colleagues!

TBA
In this interactive session you will become familiar with three of the tools/programs you may see your SLP Team using with students. We will give an overview of the 5 Minute Kids program, the Expanding Expression Tool (EET) and the Story Champs program before diving in to see how they each work. Be prepared to participate in activities and work in small groups to practice using these tools/programs.
*Please note: We will be focusing on using these programs in a kindergarten to grade three setting; however, the programs may be adapted to suit students/grades outside of this range.

5 Minute Kids™ delivers services to students with speech sound disorders through short, individual drill sessions. Research has shown this model is more effective and reduces the amount of time in therapy. 5minutekids.com/program

The Expanding Expression Tool is a multisensory approach to improving oral and written language. The EET provides students with a hands-on approach to describing and defining. It provides visual and tactile information which facilitates improved language organization. Expanding Expression © 2024

Story Champs focuses on building language through listening to and producing oral narratives (stories). Strengthening language through oral narratives can facilitate growth in other academic skills such as recalling and sharing information, acquiring word meanings through context, expanding domain knowledge, producing more advanced writing, and comprehending text. © 2012-2023 Language Dynamics Group, LLC
